My new favorite workout!

I just got my Max Rower and I'm absolutely loving it! The workouts are fantastic and the instructors are super motivating. I feel amazing after every session. Definitely shopping here again for accessories!

Max Rower experience

I ordered the Max Rower about three weeks ago. Shipping took 6 days to get to my place in Atlanta, which was pretty standard for a large item. Assembly was straightforward, I followed the video they had online and it took me about an hour and a half by myself. The quality of the machine feels really solid, no wobbles or weird noises during workouts. I've been using the app for the on-demand rowing workouts, and the integration with the machine works well. The instructors are clear and the variety of classes is good. One small thing, the heart rate monitor I bought separately had a bit of trouble pairing at first, but it sorted itself out after a few tries. Overall, a good experience.

Mostly happy with the app

I've been using the CityRow App for a couple of months now, mostly for the strength training and HIIT workouts since I don't own their rower. The classes are challenging and the instructors are good. I really like the variety, keeps things from getting boring. My only small complaint is that sometimes the app lags a bit when casting to my TV, but it's not a dealbreaker. Overall, I'm satisfied with the value for the monthly subscription, especially compared to other fitness apps out there.

Good value on the subscription

I was looking for a new fitness app and CityRow came up. The 14-day free trial was great, let me really try out the rowing classes before committing. Decided to go with the annual subscription after that for the extra discount. Felt like a solid investment for the amount of content you get.

Got my new rower mat

Ordered a rower mat last week. It showed up pretty quick, like 4 days. It's a mat, so not much to say, but it works fine under my machine. Stops it from sliding around. Easy peasy.

Does CityRow ever do sales on their equipment? I'm waiting for a good deal on the Max Rower.

T Tara Beaumont 2 months ago
They definitely do sales! Keep an eye out around Black Friday/Cyber Monday and other big holidays. I snagged mine during a holiday sale for a few hundred off.

O Omar 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually have pretty decent discounts then, like $100-$500 off. Worth waiting if you can!

Anyone know how long shipping usually takes for the rower? I'm in like, upstate NY.

S Shane Bennett 1 month ago
Mine took about a week and a half to get to me in Boston, but that was before the holidays. Might vary a bit now.

Yeah, I think it's usually 7-10 business days for most places. They'll probably give you a tracking number once it ships.

hey, trying to figure out which rower to get. is the max rower that much better than the classic? mainly for someone who's kinda new to rowing.

T Todd 2 months ago
For a beginner, the classic is totally fine. The Max has a bigger screen and some other bells and whistles, but the basic workout experience is pretty similar.

I have the Max and love it, but honestly, if you're just starting out, the Classic is a solid choice and saves you some cash. You can always upgrade later if you get super into it.

Can you use the CityRow app with like, any water rower, or do you need their specific machines?

J Jared Vargas 2 months ago
You can use it with other WaterRowers! Just make sure it's compatible with their app setup, some older ones might be a bit tricky.

B Brett 2 months ago
I've seen people use it with non-CityRow WaterRowers, so should be good. You just won't get all the integrated stats unless it's one of theirs, afaik.

is the monthly subscription really worth it? like, how many classes do they actually have?

R Renee 1 month ago
Totally worth it for me. They have a ton of live and on-demand classes, not just rowing either. Lots of strength and yoga stuff.

P Paula 1 month ago
Yeah, I've had it for months and haven't run out of new classes. Plus, the instructors are really motivating.

Thinking of getting a rower but also looking at Peloton. Is CityRow actually better than Peloton for a full-body workout?

D Derek C. 1 month ago
For a full-body workout, rowing is generally considered more comprehensive than cycling, which is what Peloton is known for. CityRow also has strength and yoga classes though.
3
D Daisy 1 month ago
I mean, Peloton is great for cycling, but if you want to hit more muscle groups, rowing is definitely the way to go. CityRow's instructors are awesome too.

What's the return policy like if I end up not loving the rower? Is it a huge hassle?

B Ben Nguyen 2 months ago
I haven't returned a rower myself, but their policy seems pretty standard – within 30 days if you're not happy. Make sure to check their exact terms on their site though.

My friend returned theirs (they moved and couldn't fit it), and said it wasn't too bad. Just had to make sure it was in good condition and they arranged pickup. Took a little bit but no major drama.

Are there any free trials for the app? Wanna try it before committing to a full month.

A Andre 2 months ago
Yep, they usually offer a 14-day free trial for new app users. Just sign up on the website.

D Dan Silva 2 months ago
I got a month free when I first signed up, so sometimes they even do more than 14 days, depends on the promo I guess.
